Apparently times are so tough that the world’s wealthiest people cannot afford to hire famous rock ‘n’ roll bands to play exclusively at private parties or birthday bashes. According to a quote from a pop music manager, published on the idolator.com, “an important income stream has basically dried up. Now that record companies can’t support artists on tour anymore, this is very bad news for my acts.” In fact the last time that the Stones were spotted playing a party was for Deutsche Bank at the National Art Museum of Catalonia in Barcelona in July 2007. Reportedly the band received a cool $5.4 million for their brief stint. Times of churning a quick buck…or two or millions…are now gone, with the unfortunate economic situation currently gripping the world. Of course, who is really feeling sorry for the Stones?
If you can’t afford a mega-birthday celebration that features a personalized song set-list orchestrated by the Rolling Stones, don’t fret, you can still see them perform live at one of their upcoming shows. Go to Stubhub and get your own pair of Rolling Stones tickets today!
