In light of the recent news that the Rolling Stones made financial records with their Bigger Bang tour that covered a good portion of the globe, Mick Jagger has announced that the band will keep rocking on so long as people want to see them jam live. Probably the most amazing thing is, these rockers are no young ones. Drummer Charlie Watts is 66, Keith Richards is 63, Ronnie Woods is 60 and the frontman himself rounds out the bunch at the age of 64. They certainly do have a good reason to want to retire after their years of hard work and heavy partying. They played their first gig back in 1962, but somehow as the years pile on the Stones don’t seem to be deterred.
Jagger emphasized that he and his bandmates would keep the music coming by saying, “If you still enjoy what you are doing, and the audience still enjoys coming, then it’s a two-way street. Beyond that, ‘how long’ is a crystal-ball question.” So I guess all we can do is wish these aging rockers good health and the stamina to keep traveling and performing for sold out concerts. It certainly isn’t hurting them financially! See the Stones while they’re still around, get a pair of Rolling Stones tickets at Stubhub.com and enjoy the show!
