There is nothing like being jolted back to consciousness by the rock ‘n roll music of Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. Sam Carter, a retired baker from Stoke in Staffordshire lost consciousness after contracting severe anaemia, but was apparently given the wake-up call of his life when the Rolling Stones song, “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” was blared into his ears. Carter was only given a 30% chance of survival, but his wife, Eva, acting on doctor’s orders played her husband’s favorite rock group through a set of earphones.
Carter was previously listening to the Stoke local radio station, but immediately opened his eyes when he heard Mick and Keith collaborating, loudly, to one of their most famous ballads. The song was the first record he had ever bought and Carter claims that once he heard it, he knew he had more life in him. Carter was quoted in the Daily Telegraph as saying, “I would love to thank Mick and the rest of the Stones personally-I feel they really did help wake me from my coma.” Tired with the high costs of medicine and doctors’ treatments these days?
