Yes, indeed I am talking about the Rolling Stones. Those kings of rock, those bad-ass boys that always wriggle themselves into news headlines, whether they are on tour, or not. The latest hubhub, or rather really the only hubhub lately has revolved around Ron Wood, who in a drunken escapade decided that he might shack up with a 19-year-old Russian girl and make her think that she is love, which by any account was a downright ridiculous idea, drunk or sober. Where is Keith Richards anyway, shouldn’t he be snorting cockroaches or something?
For the relief of fans who are decidedly sick of Ron Wood and his hopeless little love interest, there is a new exhibition of photographs of the rockers compiled in one stupendous collection entitle Majesties and Exiles: Photographs of the Rolling Stones by Dominique Tarle and Michael Cooper. The collection of photographs is from the bands days while in exile in France for tax evasion in 1971, not a bad place to be sent to, but anyway…yes the pictures will be on display from September 13 to November 15 at Snap Galleries in Fort Dunlop, Birmingham. And yes, you will be reminded that you are not a rock star and you are anything but cool. Enjoy. Get your Rolling Stones tickets from Stubhub.com.
