The Link to Gloucestershire

The Rolling Stones have roots to the county of Gloucestershire in the U.K. The late Brian Jones was from there, but it also appears that Mick Jagger’s paternal grandfather, David Ernest Jagger was the headmaster of an elementary school and lived in Whitminster and Stroud.  The Stones’ main link to the county has been Brian Jones, who was born in Cheltenham and is buried at the town’s cemetery.  The county’s residents were surprised to learn that Jagger, too has a family history with the county.  An article in a local newspaper has a county resident pondering, “Perhaps if the Jaggers had stayed in the village they might have popped in to us.

My guess is that if the Jagger’s had stayed put, we might have the Rolling Stones….as they are today.Although the band is not currently on tour, it is never too late to start perusing for Rolling Stones tickets.  Check out Stubhub, which boasts a vast collection of concert, theater and sports tickets.  Don’t misss out on a rollicking live performance with Mick, Keith, Ronnie and Charlie!
